We Help You Succeed!

Look to our graduate STEM program to learn the application of mathematical methods to financial problems. We are Ranked #5 by Risk.net and Ranked #12 by QuantNet.

We are known for rigorous training in the core areas of probability, statistics, mathematical modeling, investment theory, stochastic processes, and economics. This depth of understanding prepares students to respond to today’s rapidly evolving, world-wide economic and financial landscape.

About Financial Mathematics

Financial Mathematics is also known by other names, including Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance, and Computational Finance. Our students go on to become Traders, Quantitative Analysts and Researchers, Portfolio Managers, Investment Managers, and Data Analysts, just to name a few!

Investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, corporate treasuries, and regulatory agencies all use a form of financial mathematics to analyze and summarize their data, pulling from such tools as probability, statistics, stochastic processes, and economic theory. With the aid of modern computational techniques, we teach our students how to manage vast quantities of data, design scenarios with multiple variables, and build large working models of otherwise complex systems.

Our Rankings

Our program continues to excel, with the latest rankings from QuantNet and Risk.net as proof that we deliver the best curriculum and value to our students. Combined with the overall quality of education, campus life and community that NC State University has to offer, we are the complete package that competitive students need in order to prepare and be successful in the financial market.
