Dr. Tao Pang is a professor at the Department of Mathematics with research interests in portfolio optimization, risk management and operations management. He received his PhD from Brown University, with a focus on portfolio optimization. His MS and BS are both from University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Pang is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). He served as a co-director of the North Carolina Chapter of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) from 2011 to 2016.

Mr. Patrick Roberts has over a decade of experience in career services and connecting students to successful employment. He received his Bachelor’s in History and Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University at Buffalo and Buffalo State College. While working in North Carolina, he has become an active member of the NC Association of Colleges and Employers and served as President for the organization in 2019. Mr. Roberts is also involved with the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers and currently serves as assistant chair for their leadership development programs. Mr. Roberts has been published in the American College Personnel Association and presented at several state and national conferences on topics that include marketing, student success, career management, and first destination data collection.

Ms. Susan Uy is an alumna of NC State, having earned a bachelors in Chemistry. Prior to that, she earned a bachelors in Political Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. Susan’s career track includes 10 years at ABB, one of the first business partnerships at NC State University’s Centennial Campus. She worked in administration as well as in the oil analysis lab, until settling into a career in IT providing server and database support. She comes to the Financial Mathematics team after a successful career in graduate student support with NC State’s Computer Science Department as well as the Mechanical and Aerospace Department.
