Bio

Catherine Sexton is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Financial Mathematics at North Carolina State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree with double majors in Mathematics (with a concentration in finance) and Statistics from the University of Virginia. Her academic background provides a strong foundation in mathematics, statistical analysis, and programming. Catherine built on this foundation through applied projects, including developing a machine learning model for stocks from online sentiment data, creating an expected points model for football, and delivering data analytics for the non-profit City of Promise. Following her graduate studies, Catherine plans to pursue a career in quantitative research, risk analysis, or portfolio management.
