Bio

Daksh Kumar is a graduate student in the Master of Financial Mathematics program at North Carolina State University. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where he built a strong foundation in programming, machine learning, optimization algorithms, and quantitative decision-making. Professionally, Daksh has worked as a founding engineer in data-driven and AI-focused startups, where he designed scalable data modelling and analytics pipelines, built machine learning models, and worked extensively with large, structured financial and transactional datasets. Alongside his industry experience, he has conducted research in portfolio optimization, combining deep learning–based predictive models with classical and downside risk frameworks. With strong proficiency in Python, SQL, C/C++ and applied quantitative modeling, his interests include quantitative research, portfolio optimization, and risk modeling, and he aims to apply rigorous mathematical and statistical methods to financial markets.
