Bio

Thomas is pursuing a Master of Financial Mathematics at North Carolina State University after earning a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Statistics, with a minor in Management, from Purdue University. His academic background includes coursework in derivatives pricing, linear algebra, investment management, and risk modeling, and he has passed Society of Actuaries Exams P, FM, and FAM. Thomas gained professional experience as a Valuation Actuarial Intern at Group 1001, where he ran monthly reserve roll-forwards for multibillion-dollar blocks of insurance contracts and developed reconciliation tools for actuarial and audit teams using Excel VBA and Power Query. He has also used Python and R for projects involving credit-risk probability-of-default modeling, expected-loss analysis, Monte Carlo stress testing, ARIMA forecasting, and model validation. His career interests include quantitative research, financial risk management, and portfolio analytics.
